The Trust provides scholarships in two ways:
Applicants can also apply through the Universities and TAFE who promote the scholarships via their own websites – generally at the beginning of the year. Further details are available via the links provided below.
Applicants can apply directly to the Trust using the online form submission:
Applications are received annually between 1 May and 31 May;
Applicants are required to complete an application form and personal financial statement, including a detailed budget;
Directors conduct personal interviews with selected applicants;
The value of a scholarship will depend on the application, however as a general rule scholarships range up to $5,000.
Eligibility of applicants
Applicants must be:
1. An Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
2. Enrolled, or seeking to enrol, as a full-time student in an undergraduate course of study in South Australia
The Fund has helped students by providing individual scholarships to those who have shown they require financial assistance. A student is deemed eligible if: they can show that their current income and family support does not cover their expenses. The expense profile of each student is analysed on a case by case basis and where there is a shortfall between income and expenditure, the Fund may be able to assist.
Adelaide University offers eight annual scholarships valued at $2,000 each for one year. These scholarships are available for commencing and continuing students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia and who are undertaking a program of study on a full-time basis.
Flinders University offers four annual scholarships to assist undergraduate students residing in University Hall or the Deirdre Jordan Village. The value of each scholarship will be up to $2,500 which will be credited to the recipient's Accommodation Fee account at Flinders Living.
Students must be able to demonstrate financial hardship.
TAFE SA offers scholarships valued up to $2,000 each to assist full-time students enrolled in any TAFE SA Certificate IV or above who are in significant financial hardship.
